MS Direct AG creates an additional 350 jobs in Arbon

MS Direct AG continues to expand, opening a new location in Arbon on the former V-Zug site in January 2023. The St. Gallen-based company is thus responding to the development of online retailing and strengthening the economic area of Eastern Switzerland by creating 350 additional jobs in the region.

With the expansion, MS Direct AG increases its capacities and becomes one of the largest employers in the area with a total of over 600 employees. “With the new location, we are living up to our claim of being a partner to online retailers and driving the growth of e-commerce in Switzerland even further,” says site manager Christian Bächtold. At the same time, the company sets new standards through the use of automated production equipment. For example, the new conveyor system, which will be installed in 3 stages over 1,500 meters in the 8,000-square-meter hall, will support and simplify the work processes.

In addition to fully ergonomically equipped workstations, the new space concept also provides more than 500 square meters for lounges and social rooms that promote interdisciplinary and cross-team exchange. “A modern working environment, team spirit and togetherness are enormously important to us. We want our employees to feel completely at ease in the workplace,” emphasizes Bächtold. To ensure that this succeeds, MS Direct AG also relies on fixed shift times, internal development programs and language courses for its international workforce, which is currently made up of 52 nations.

Another big plus, which is likely to pay off in terms of the work-life balance of the workforce, is the unique location close to the train station, Lake Constance and the local recreation area. This means that the production site can be reached quickly and easily by employees using public transport or by car.

Luca Graf, CEO MS Direct AG is positive about the future: “Eastern Switzerland offers innovative companies a good environment and MS Direct is making a clear commitment to the Lake Constance region with this investment.”
